The role of the adhesive

– Aug 15, 2020-

The process by which an adhesive solidifies its adhesive layer by chemical and physical action. Curing is the last step to obtain the bonding property, which has a great influence on the bonding strength. During the curing process, temperature, pressure and time are the three important parameters of the curing process.

The change of each parameter has a direct effect on the bonding strength, a certain amount of pressure during curing should be said to be necessary for all adhesives, because pressure is conducive to the diffusion of the adhesive penetration, close contact with the objects being adhered, help exhaust gas, water, to avoid the generation of air bubbles, pores so that the glue layer is uniform and the position of the sticky material fixed. In order to obtain the maximum bonding strength completely, it is necessary to ensure that there is enough time to cure the adhesive layer, whether by chemical reaction or physical action, this is usually referred to as the time it takes for the adhesive to reach its final adhesion.
